COLLECTIF9: NO TIME FOR CHAMBER MUSIC
Music by / inspired by Gustav Mahler (1860-1911)

Exploring extreme dualities, No Time for Chamber Music magnifies, in a sometimes ironic way, the interplay between opposing forces - man(woman) and nature, life and death, darkness and light, carelessness and gravity - with scintillating folk dances and allusions to the serenity of nature. In this album, collectif9 embarks on a rich and complex adventure through intimate arrangements of the music of Gustav Mahler.

1- Comme un bruit de la nature from symphony no.1
2 - L’enterrement du chasseur from symphony no.
3 - Marche funèbre from symphony no.2
4 - Ländler from symphony no.2
5 - J’ai un couteau à la lame brûlante from ‘songs of a wayfarer'
6 - Marche funèbre from symphony no.5
7 - L’adieu from ‘the song of the earth’
8 - Fantaisie à la manière de Callot
9 - Phantasie aus Don Juan - imagination from ‘lieder und gesänge’ vol. 1

Tracks 1-7 and 9 by Gustav Mahler, track 8 by Philippe Hersant
All pieces arranged by Thibault Bertin-Maghit
Arrangement of Fantaisie à la manière de Callot by Philippe Hersant made with permission from Éditions Durand
